Beer: The Art & Science of Brewing

Beer!

It makes us laugh, it makes us stumble, it makes us delighted.

But while beer is so simple to enjoy, its creation is driven by a complex set of reactions and interactions. Lee Morphew, head brewer for Tioga Sequoia Brewing Co., gives us an in depth look at what’s going on inside the cup, and teaches us a brewer’s trick that has been used by yeast for millions of years…!

Lee Morphew was born in Boulder CO, where he studied Molecular biology and chemistry at the university of Colorado. After home brewing for years, Lee found his passion in making beer professionally at Rock Bottom brewery in Denver CO. Lee now works as the head brewer for Tioga Sequoia brewing co. here in fresno CA, creating new beers and ensuring consistency in production.
