Water Sustainability in the Central Valley

Water is a hot-button topic in the Central Valley.  To discuss this issue, Central Valley Cafe Scientifique has invited three speakers for a panel discussion on water sustainability – Dr. Beth Weinman from the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences and an expert on groundwater; Dr. Criss Wilhite from the Department of Psychology and an expert on applied behavioral analysis; and Dr. Thomas Holyoke from the Department of Political Sciences and an expert on American politics and interest groups.   In 2012, Fresno State University founded an interdisciplinary team of scientists around the topic of water, called the Water Cohort.  The goal of Water Cohort is to engage the campus and the community in initiatives that help us better understand water issues and challenges.  The ultimate vision is to incite action, to address issues, and to collaborate in order to construct water solutions in the Central Valley and worldwide.
